Vetted Installer Partners
My Solar Brokers is independent. I only work with installers that meet these standards.
What it takes to earn a referral from me
Every installer I recommend has cleared each of these four bars. No exceptions.
Four-criteria checklist
If any one of these slips, the installer comes off my list — permanently or until they fix it.
- A+ BBB rating. Better Business Bureau accreditation in good standing. Complaint history reviewed, not just the headline grade.
- NJ-licensed contractor. Current NJ Home Improvement Contractor (HIC) registration plus all required electrical and roofing trade licenses for the work they perform.
- 25-year workmanship warranty minimum. A real, transferable workmanship guarantee — not just the panel manufacturer's product warranty. Backed by the installer, in writing.
- Premium-material certified. Manufacturer-level certification on the panels, inverters, and roofing materials they install. No off-brand inventory clearance jobs.
The actual list is intentionally fluid. I add and remove installers based on quality — not on who's paid the highest referral fee that month. Ask me who I'd recommend for your project. The answer depends on your roof, your utility, your timeline, and which of my partners has the best NJ crew available when you want to break ground.
Why I don't publish the names
The partner list shifts as installers earn or lose my trust. A crew that delivered a flawless install in 2024 might lose their best foreman in 2026 and start cutting corners on flashing details. A new outfit might come in this quarter, three jobs deep, with the cleanest workmanship I've seen in years. The right answer for your roof is the answer at your moment — not the answer I would have published last summer.
A static list, once published, becomes a marketing tool. Installers start chasing the badge instead of doing the work. Bad actors look for ways to game their way onto it. And homeowners assume that everyone on the list is currently the right fit — even when one of those installers is having a rough quarter and shouldn't be touching your roof right now.
I want to recommend installers based on the truth of this week, not the marketing copy of last year. Static lists become trust theater. I'd rather just earn your trust by giving you the right answer for your project, and tell you the reasoning behind it.
Installer? Want to be considered.
If you're a NJ-licensed solar or roofing installer who meets the four criteria above and wants to be evaluated for my referral list, get in touch. Bring proof of license, BBB record, manufacturer certifications, and a recent project I can inspect. I vet personally and I vet in person.
